Hi. Iam looking to put 20x8.00 lawn mower rear tires on the front of my lawn mower. the rear supports a 3/4" axel and the front is 5/8" I believe. is there a kit or sleeve . the lawn mower is a 1995 mtd 12.5 hp thanks for any info.

The rear wheels you have are probably "keyed" meaning there is a slot cut into the wheel hub that matches a slot cut into the axle, the "Key" is a small square piece of metal that locks the 2 slots together, so the wheel does not spin freely but spins with the powered rear axle.
Front tires have a bearing that allows the wheel to spin freely on the spindle or axle shaft. I guess you could sleeve the rear wheel but you would need to grease it a lot. I don't know how long this would hold up.
But I like the idea. It would look cool, Like a monster mower. boowahahaha!!
Also try tractor forum .net I think.
or you tube has a billion good mower tractor customizations.

Just saw your other post. You will probably get a good answer there. I did not know what you were doing. Welcome to the forum.

:welcome2:
a lot of older mowers used bronze bushings the wheels have 1 1/8'' hole in them and the bushing pressed in an had the center dia of the bushing 5/8 and 3/4. newer 90's up started using
3/4'' or so hole size and started using nylon type bushing that wears out pretty quick if you grease them, but being a mower, before you do this, you can get that wheel size to fit, but you will lose probably over half of your turning ability, unless widen the front axle then have to widen rear to match. or if you have room may have to notch out the frame so rear section of the tire has room to turn. if you haven't bought the wheels you want to use, look for ones that have the the least back spacing. average front tire dia. is around 16'' and in full turn are pretty close to frame.
plans- pick out the body style of jeep you want, they make a kit ole willis style army jeep for mowers, rest is a blank canvas.
