How to upgrade my TM K9C engine?

Hey guys. Me and my friend have got a TM K9C and we want to get some more power going. We want the kart to have a better performance (run faster) and we have no idea what kind of upgrades we can do to the engine in order to achieve this.

That seems like a pretty beefy engine from what I quickly found on Google. What's the budget for this? To get more speed immediately, change the gearing but other mods would increase its power.

Ok how do i change gearing. If it isnt too much to ask, gimme details please. Its important for me as i have no clue about engines and i want to know exactly what modifications i can make ti improve the karts perfromance

I agree with redsox. If you just want a higher top speed, the easiest thing to do would be:

Replacing your axle sprocket with another smaller one with a few less teeth,
Or replacing your engine sprocket for a larger one with a few more teeth.

Either way, you'd also have to readjust your chain tension,
or if necessary extend/shorten it with a chain breaker tool,
or purchase a new chain that's the correct length to match your new sprockets.
