A lot of off-road karts like Yerf-Dogs run swingarm mounted engines. How do they keep the throttle cables from going slack when the suspension compresses? Since the engine travels with the suspension, when the suspension compresses the engine is moved closer to the pedal. Wouldn't this cause the throttle cable to go slack and stop the engine from revving?

It doesn't cause it to go slack, the cable is flexible but the ends of the sleeves are pretty much hard mounted on both ends. This allows the cable housing to travel and bounce or flex as needed, the internal cable is tied off to the pedal and the throttle, no way it can go slack if the ends are all tight, even on a yard kart the throttle cable has movement to it from a lot of things, natural vibration, and the use of the throttle pedal will move the cable around quite a bit.

Install the cable just like you would any other kart, buggy, or minibike, leave a little wiggle room but make sure all the contact points are tight.
