High-temp engine paint at your local auto parts will work. I know Duplicolor makes some, I can't remember who else does right now. Make sure the parts are 100% clean (no dirt, oil residue, etc) or the paint WILL start to flake off after a while. Using the primer that is recomended on the back of the can will make sure that the paint will last a while.

I was thinking of just stripping one of my engine blocks/head and just leaving it like that because I like the bare metal look. What do you guys think?

yea it'll look good so wait is the paint in a spray can?

and do you put on the primer first-or-mix it with the other paint if it's not a spray can?

It's all in spray cans. You clean and prep the area first, then apply the primer, and finish off with your top coat following the directions on the cans.

And a few tips: Use a fine grit sandpaper so you don't put a bunch of deep scratches on the block. There are paint strippers out there that you could use, but sanding will work. If you take the engine appart and do the covers, block, tank, etc seperatly the job will come out better. While it's apart you could put new gaskets in and (if you want it to look really good) use new bolts. I prefer to take it apart because then you can get more detailed with it.

I usually don't paint the carb. And no you don't paint the flywheel either. I paint the block, head, pull start cover, all sheilds, and the gas tank. Some paints are gas resistant and some are not, but I use a funnel when filling the tank on these things anyway (with gas so expensive every drop is $$$, lol).

I like karts

If it's got a little rus on it, sand it down, and then spray it with some primer stuff that converts rust into grey primer. then paint the color of your choice with hi-temp paint
