Can we get a side by side comparison? Pros and cons? This makes me happy that I got second hand Comet parts that I tuned up!
As far as a side by side comparison, visibly they look the same; but if you hold them in your hands, the Comet is heavier -as in weighs more and feels more solid. The Comet has colored springs to identify the resistance on the driven pulley with replacements available to change, while the GTC only offers one spring that is uncolored. Comet supplies the protection cover, and GTC makes you buy it separate. Lastly (unless I missed something), boo hoo, Comet is out of business, and GTC is in... :toetap05:
I am not saying that the GTC is garbage, I just wish that it would hold up to what they claim it does. I will say again that I never would have bought it had I known what I know now. I was a noob (kinda still am but gettin' there), and believed that it could handle 13hp. I guess that it can, but the gearing has to be changed so severely that it is not worth it to even have a motor over 8hp. The karts would probably go the same speed side by side (13hp vs 8hp) -- especially after the 13hp melts the belt.
I need a 40 series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
