hi i was wondering if there was much i could do to my 4 cycle 2.5hp 50cc engine that i got to make a gas bike/low rider/cafe racer thingy to get more power. i won't be able to to machining for a wile but if there is something that will rely help i can try and get a friend to work on it at his tech school. that'd take a wile to get the part back though because it has to be just worked on when he finishes a project early. would a boost bottle work on a 4 cycle or are those just for 2 cycle engines? also does anybody know of the bearings in bike hubs seizing up from higher rpm then their for? i'd be repacking everything with lithium grease anyway but is that something to worry about?

Straight pipe, mill down the head there are ways of doing it other than with a mill, Air filter that provides less air restriction, posiple rejeting the carb if i could do with some more gas. If you have the money get billit rods and flywheel, I have heared of offsetting the timeing but i have never tryed it, Just a few ideas off the top of my head. I have put engines on bikes before and run them 30 to 40 mph without them ever seizing up.

few i was worried about the seizing bearings! i have a program on my computer for muffler design of strait through pipes and i can use slotted, holes, or a gap between the ends. lightening the piston won't happen for awhile unless i can get some exact specs and get it machined. i've got my eyes on a real nice filter that can be used for this engine but i won't be getting it until i have the bike built. how do you rejet a carb? i've never heard of that. i have no idea where i can get billit parts for my engine which is a honda clone. the engine is amazing, started first pull right out of the box.

A google search of your engines model number followed by billit rods will tell if you can get them i do belive, Rejetting is only needed if the engine needs more gas and doesn't have a jet screw adjestment. People sometimes think jetting gets more power and that is not all that true. Im sure Toystory will pop in here soon and he will give you some more info on that.

They seem over priced. Make up your own air filter adapter and get an air filter from eBay.
Use a fuel filter on the breather.
Weld up a header.
Measure the distance between the carb mounting studs. May be able to fit a gx100 carb on there.

Its smaller and has a nipple on it that can easyly go into the breather tube and not fall out.
