What's going to be the best way to construct an axle capable of handling atleast 50-60 horsepower? I want to be able to bolt on a motorcycle sproket to use a 520/530 chain and disk brake. Also how can I mount it to the bike securely?
From what I understand I need hubs for the tires. Do these hubs weld right onto the axle? And would I create a solid axle? I don't think vertical bearings with an axle through them will withstand the power and terrain I'll be using it on.
No trike, but am using a swing arm design. I guess I can just put the bearings in the swing arm, but how to attach a sproket that big along with brakes has me confused.
good luck finding a hub that matches a 520 sprocket. you might find a pair that matches, but thats not likely. you could do what modelengineer did and put a sprocket on a steel plate and put that plate on a hub
