how to bend steel and trailer modifications

so i need a spare tyre rack on my trailer

so i found some steel and got to work

to bend the steel plate 80mm wide by 3mm thick i cut slots in it with the grinder at equal distances

then bend it up

then welded up the cuts

then welded the bend to the frame and braced it up

then welded a big bolt and a braket to hold the tyre on

good enough for me

Very good job. When I was re-doing my trailer, I just bought a spare tire carrier from Hong Kong freight and install it.

I have to go to a trailer shop tomorrow (notice the missing hub in pic 6) to get new wheel cylinders so I'll see
Never thought about that

But this one only cost about $3 in welding wire
The only thing I was missing was the big steel bar I used to bend
But I stole it from my neighbor (we do it to each other alot)

Thats why the trailer is in the car port
Outside was very hot
