Im going to egt a minibike kit and want to know how much it will handle. It will have either a 5hp briggs or a 6.5 clone. Im going to use it in the woodsand in my fields. Theres alot of roots and things to bump around on. What concerns should i have? How easily do the handle bars and forks get damaged after bumping around daily?

what kit? Sounds like you need one with a bit of suspention and decent sized tires. Atleast on the forks and seat. Generally your best off getting an old 70's bike from craigslist or wherever and fixing it up. If your just getting into this try oldminibikes.com lots of good info and ideas there also

I was looking at the basic minibike kits. The ones that go for about 260 or 360 depending on tire size. I am on a very small budget, 500 bucks to be exact.

Look on craigslist for minibike deals first. I have a modded briggs w/tav stuffed into my kit frame. Has held up very well!

With all the crap you are going to be going over. I would get an older minibike with suspension! Hard tailed things aren't good at going overland.
