This is so true. I have ideas churning in my head and I'm yet to complete my first kart. Heck, I made full SketchUp plans to size of a tracked vehicle I want.

the older you get the bigger and faster the projects get haha. Im about to turn 21, and have a yard cart, pocket bike project, insane golf cart project, and an ever evolving street bike. Hey, I think building this stuff is way better than staring at a tv all day. Some people will just never understand our love for mechanical death traps haha.
When I tell people about my golf cart, they have one of two reactions:
1. What the f&^%?! Why would you do that??
2. What the F&^%?! When can I ride it?!!!

I'm 53.
Never had a Kart as a kid, always wanted one.
Found one to "fix up" at a flea market (used the Grandkids as an excuse), having a ball. Haven't finished it yet and already have "Phase II" in mind.
As was already said, You're too old when they close the lid and lower you down.

Im 25 and had a kart since i was like 4. I had one or 3 till i was out 18 or so then got heavy into minibikes and carts and making my own machines. Now iv got like 20 and counting. Iv got a porsche and two old jeeps too but you never get too old to bomb around the yard on a sunday with 4 wheels and an engine. older guys just buy quads and dirtbikes because theyre too lazy to work on a lawn mower powered toy but its all the same kind of fun

i say go for it!....ever since i was a kid i wanted something to ride but had no money, when i turned 17 i picked up my first go kart and rode the hell outta of it....im 21 and have had a couple of go karts since but the thrill of driving them around the block and tearing the yard up made me buy another one just to fix up. believe me, most of my friends are gangsters and hardcore dudes but when they have come to my house and seen my kart, they always beg to ride it. I also buy em to fix and sell, so making money is another thing u can think about.

im 15 and iv been building my go kart since i was 14 when it had a 2 stroke lawn mower engine and a 3 speed lawnmower transmision now iam up to a 2 speed belt driven honda gx200 clone kart and im planning phase 2 which culd either be 2 speed chaindrive, a cvt or a 225cc quad engine and transmison

1st thing, if you like it who cares if its socially aceptable, if you like it, do it!!!!

Im 11 And I Wanted My 1st Kart Since I Was 4 ! :] Got A Pedal 1 Mwahaha !!! I Loved It ! Spiderman Boi !!! It Was Spiderman And I Went On The Local Streets With It Thinking It Was My Car :] Then 1 Stupid Grandpa Guy Beeped At Me And I Ran Back To The House WITHOUT My Go-Kart. Then My Mom Sold It On Ebay...
im 16 and am a junior to and all i do is look up go kart stuff and make plans and talk to people about go karts. I have a actual race car and i am thinking about my kart more than the car. mostly because i cant always race my car but can always ride my kart. its fun to do and im sure some people would think grown ups with lifted trucks is stupid (not saying i am) but its wat they love to do so they do it.
