I recently got a predator 212 to replace my tired out Tecumseh. I've done a few free mods, such as air box modifications and removing the screen on the exhaust, and taking out the throttle screw. I've seen all sorts of performance parts out there, but has anyone ever been brave enough to put them all together? I would love to hear from you, because it's great to know what speed parts are out there.:wai:

All depends how much money you want to throw at it...

If money was no factor, and you count an engine made out of 100% aftermarket parts in a heavily modified predator block as still being a predator engine, you could conceivably get around 50hp from one, at least for a little while.

why only a little while? would i have to replace the block with a honda block?

Because that would be around a 250hp per liter power/displacement ratio. On a splash lubricated air cooled pushrod engine. Ain't gonna last.

Even pressure lubed, water cooled, DOHC engines have a hard time doing that in any reliable manner unless they were designed like that from the get-go, especially at sustained WOT

I have a stock 212 with 22lb valve springs ported head no governor Mikuni 26mm carb. It has compound vz21 turbos and no waste gates. It made 25 hp at 6000 RPM @25-30 PSI. I think the only reason the stock rod holds up is do to the turbos oil return draining onto the crank. I modled my dyno after Flynhibilys using a hydraulic pump and a Harbor Freight torque meter.

I'm more surprised that the cast piston didn't turn into gravel. You must have a conservative tune for it to have survived the dyno with fixed timing and a carburetor.
