Not sure you're still intersted, but I've spent at least $500, that includes the HF 6.5 at $129, not $65 like some of these guys seem to get, a TAV2, 1" live axle, posi-stop disc brake, home made spindles, tie rods, frame, steering wheel. Almost $100 of it is steel, geez it just jumped up in the last couple months. I probably have at least $700 into by the time its done. I'll get some pics out.

Just for fun, I'd like to build one with only free scrap. Kinda like I'd like to build a driftboat out of OSB. Its always fun to show that crap off to folks that have all the fancy stuff.:cheers2:

Ummm too much.

Motor: $50
Brakes: $260
Jackshaft/sprockets: $30
Differential: about $50
Steering wheel $2
Material for the seats: $60
Misc metal materials: about $100
Tires/wheels: about $100
Axle: $20
Clutch $8
Hubs $60
Pillow blocks about $70
Master Cylinder about $25

Not all of this stuff is accurate, I had to guesstimate on some because I don't remember exactly.
A lot of this stuff I bought on eBay.

cost

my kart costme just over $100 without welding engine was free frame was free(dexion angle iron) basically i just bought tires axle sproket chain front wheels steering wheel sprocket mounting harware(1'galvenized pipe threaded and flange withe bolt holes threaded.)rest was free but it depends on how involved u wana get. For instance it took me a whole day to make my own pillow blocks to mount bearings to the frame out of wood but in the end they worked well and saved me almost $60 rite there I also cnt weld dont have a pipe bender dont have a lathe. The less money u spend the longer its gonna take and the more work ugotta do but its totally worth it in the end.
