How much for engine?

i have a 4hp Montgomery Ward engine (i was told it was a briggs). i bought it for $20 just to familiarize myself with engines. the problem is my parents dont want it sitting in the backyard anymore, so i have to sell it. How much would you post it for on craigslist? it runs. not too difficult to get running, but it is a little unpredictable after it is started.

$20 doesn't sound too bad for an engine that runs, how about you don't say anything in the post about how you got it or for how much and try to get your $20 back? Just say that you want to sell it. Or you can say $25 and someone will probably look at it, be hesitant and then you can say: "Well, you can have it for $20." The fact that you drop it for them will make it that much more attractive to the person interested in it. If you're able to sell it then, you really wouldn't have lost any money!

Hide it in the shed somewhere, or clean it up and hide it your bedroom! From personal experience, it was at least 2 days before my Mom could smell it!
