How important are bolt spacers?

Greetings!
I was wondering if I need bolt spacers and how important they really are. I have a predator 212cc running a 4.10-3.50-5 tire and the bolts keep bending after a couple of rides. I've shopped from a few different store and all the bolts keep bending way out of shape. The bolts bend so much they make the sprocket come unaligned and my chain pops off while riding. Will bolt spacers fix this problem?

Much thanks!

This is the best picture I can get at the moment of the one I currently have on another go kart. I don't actually know the name of this part and I'm hoping someone else does. The part I'm pointing too is the blueish dirty weird shaped thing beside the sprocket.

If it were mine:
Move the engine over 1/2 inch towards wheel.
Get rid of that jury rigged 2 nuts/used as a spacer at the sprocket mount
“But” first buy some new tires.:worried2:

But what do I know I’m a three wheeler guy. :cheers2:

Those wheel spacers are probably going to be a rare find as I recall... its made out of aluminum and not they are not produced anymore...
