So tonight, I went to the Verizon store to upgrade my phone. Well, I liked the Droid 3, but it was $50 cheaper online so I decided to save some money and buy it online. The guy in store didn't mention it, but I spotted it and it's online as well, the Droid 3 is BOGO, if you have 2 lines available for upgrade. Luckily, we do. Mine and my 87 year old grandmother. The chances of her learning a new phone, much less the newest Droid, are nil. While at the store, I talked to the manager about what stipulations where tied to this free phone. "Well, technically, you're supposed to apply it to the second line you're renewing." I ask if I can give it to a friend or sell it to one or something. He feeds me the same "technically" load of BS and tells me that I must leave the store with both activated. Well, I'm buying online so that's not happening I tell him. "Technically..." :ack2: This equates to...We usually do it one way, but we can't stop you if you have it mailed to your house.

So I go online to get the phones and renew her contract since she'll never want a new phone, but I find that I need to add a data package to her line. I try online chat asking if I can cancel the data plan once I get the phone since it won't be used and we don't want to pay $30/month and not use it. "Mia" fresh out of whoknowswhere gives me the run around and I call "Verizon Customer CARE" :furious2: Anyways, this isn't as bad as expected and the guy tells me that the data plan will only be charged to her line if we activate the phone to her number. GREAT! This is just want I wanted and now it's time to go buy them.

As I'm checking out, I learn of a new Visa program called "Verified by Visa" which requires a Visa password to check out so that even if your card is stolen, the check out can't go through. It's a great idea really, but I'm not registered for it...just another thing to sign up for and password to forget. Off to Visa we go. BUT WAIT..."Verified by Visa" is currently down and you can't register at the moment. Well, mom has two other cards to try...both Visas F***. Fortunately, one was preregistered so all we had to do was make a PW which I could do through the checkout. Score! Ordered!

Now I go to eBay to see what I can sell my Droid X and extra Droid 3 for... X = $100 or so. 3 (with no contract renewal req'd since it's using my grandma's renewal)= $350-400. I paid $150 for both. SUPER SCORE! I'll be selling both my old and extra phone for about $450-500, paying only $150 up front. I get a new phone AND profit $300-350. How can this get any better?! Verizon: 0 Me:1 I beat the system. :devil2:

I had no idea I'd fly out that fast. Within half an hour some guy offered $370, I said maybe in a few days. He then offered $390, to which I replied that it was only $10, but the listing had only been up about an hour of 7 days. I went to check for a response and it was sold. More would've been only better, but I can'e be the least bit disappointed, especially since my old one is selling to a friend for $100 tomorrow.
