Take off the filter box thingy. Unbolt from all areas near the carb. Use nuts to secure adapter on the carb face. Dont forget the gasket. Tighten snugly but watch out you dont break the studs off. Attach the air filter onto the adapter and tighten band clamp.

I think thats about it.

:wai: Just do it the way that mckutzy stated. I am not sure on a GX390 but if the choke lever is setup the same as GX160/200. You had better fiqure out some way to keep the choke lever from flying off. NR racing has a choke holder, thats the one we use.

If it is the same as the choke lever on the 212cc predator it really doesnt matter. You can still turn the choke on/off, it just doesnt have as long of a handle. The whole choke lever wont come off completely, just the extender. (At least mine wont, i tried pulling it off).

Here is mine, just a bent metal tab secured to the throttle plate. I used the bolt for the airbox and another nut in the existing hole where the box bolted.

Just underneath the throttle cable in the middle of the pic.

 mckutzy, good job on the choke hold down. realfast89gt, the 212 must not have the same style air cleaner ***'y as the Honda's. Once you pull the stock air cleaner ***'y on a Honda. The choke lever will come off.

Ya thanks. Its a play on a mod done on the AGK site, modified curved manifold relocating the carb. I just relocated the filter intake, a "snorkel" kinda thing. I didnt want to mess around on the gov or linkage so did this instead. I wanted to get rid of the air box thingy, looked out of place with the exhaust pipe I made.

I have more pics, let me know if any want some. not to hijack and all.

Im not too sure, I have to get some issues worked out though. It doesnt want to stay on(running) in the run position on the carb. It will eventually die on the run position by itself shortly after starting(from the start position on the carb). It will also die if I gun the throttle instead of light then hard pressure on the throttle. I can run it on the half cock position no prob. so im not to sure what the deal is.
I dont ride it much now, the nextdoor neighbor complained and threatened to call the cops if i was out riding again behind his house again.

Once again Sorry OP getting carried away talking.

:wai: Have you moded the carb? Sounds like, lean fuel issue. You might have to go a 140 emulsion tube and change the jet size. Then again, you might have to much length on you air intake hose, pull the intake hose off the carb. and see if it changes how it runs. Neighbors can be real touchy or just pain in the azz.
