What's happened
The first thing I do is look at the sellers feedback any negatives?? Have you bid on the item yet???

you got me lost there whats the problem you are having just check the person feed back and see if any of it is negative also if shipping is to high than dont bid if you dont want it.

some people sell the item for an amazing price, but then jack the shipping and handling over the price of the product.
I saw an ecko jacket for $10, when i saw the S&H it was $130.

And schilling. If no-one has bid on an item, put the lowest bid possible on it to lock it in (otherwise the seller can pull it if they don't think they're going to get the $$$ they want) ... then wait 'til the end to submit what you're REALLY willing to pay for it. A lot of sellers "bump up" the price of something through an anonymous I.D. to shoot your bid up to the max you're willing to pay. An example follows:
You see the Mother of All GoKart engines for sale, with no bids, starting at $1. You are SO excited about this Perfect Powerplant, that you are willing to bid up to $100 for it. Normally, if no-one else bids or bids lower, you'll get it at the lowest price. But some sellers, upon seeing that they've received a bid, go through an alternate ID, and start bumping up the bid amount until they just barely outbid you. Now, at the end of the auction, you will either walk away from the deal because you've been outbid, or if you're like the rest of us, you put in a slightly higher bid than you intended, just to win the auction. If the seller hadn't pulled their shenannigans, you would've won the item for a much lower price. The way you can tell this is happening is to watch.... an item can sit unbid on for days.... but once a bid is placed on it, magically it starts receiving alternate bids from literally out of nowhere! This is almost a sure sign of schilling. Let's say you bail on the deal and let the alternate ID "win" the auction. The seller will just put the item back up for sale, saying "deadbeat buyer, etc... etc..."
I have a friend who used to make a living on Ebay, and if he was in charge of our National Security, NOTHING would get past him. He helped me out because I was always paying up to my maximum bid on stuff until he educated me. I think he was sick of my whining. Hope this helps- it sure helped me.
