I bought a project kart and it came with a new axle and sprocket, but there is no chain. (Or motor) I didn't see any markings on it, so how do I figure out what size chain fits it? I need to know so I can order a clutch and chain.

Went and looked in some reference books... it's either 40 or 41. the pitch is the same between them at 1/2 inch, but the pin diameter and the roller diameter are different.

a 40 size sprocket has wider teeth than a 41. I had to file at 40 down so that I could fit a 41 chain on it.
