hmm idk about that. You can pick up used 5-8hp engines for 50-150 bux. Y do u want a honda clone?

If i were you i would go with Cad67Deville. Thats really cheap and it sounds reliable to. You could also do what i do and just buy a used briggs. They Are cheap and last forever. Pick up a used one for 75 bux and let your local lawnmower shop fix it up for ya it'll be good as new. Or spend a bit more for a 6.5 clone engine

What ever u do stay away from the tecumsehs if u do not know how to work on engines a good used briggs should be cheaper than a clone and easier to get parts for

well, im like terrible at finding aftermarket parts for engines. some people say to google search for them. i try it alot but i always come up with abunch of crap i couldnt use. ive recently search clones and there is many parts available for them. they are ez to find also. id rather have a briggs flatty Any day but cant find any around here. im just going to be doing minor mods anyways cuz im not to slick w/ these kind of engines.
minor mods for me are going to be:
air filter, header, open carb jet a size or two, port n polish, remove governor, and possibly a billet flywheel. also few other questions are if i get a billet flywheel will it make it run better or is that just for safety. if i get a billet flywheel should i get a billet connecting rod, flat top piston and possibly a high lift cam? also if i get these other items is there anything else that should go with them? Thanks everyone.

In my opinion modding a 6.5 that much is a complete waste. When you start putting more than $100 into an engine with such little potential (it would cost quite a bit to get it up to even 15hp), your just wasting your cash. You could most likely find a motorcycle or sled engine for under $500, which is probably less than it would cost to mod the clone to make 15hp. I see old 440 sleds all the time for under 300, which will give you at very least 30hp, a torque converter, a disc brake rotor, and caliper of some sorts, shocks, and plenty of other cool parts.

+1 to that... i'm done with "small engines" time to build some SERIOUS bike engine vehicles

well i dont think the sell briggs flatyy's anymore except in the classifieds. Most engines are ohv. Just look on craigslist and ebay and your local mower shop should have some. The billet fly wheel would add a bit of power as it is lighter and the crank can turn more due to that. Piston Dont Matter, Get a Billet or Raptor connecting Rod, High Lift Cam Springs and a "45 Degree" Racing valve cut. Jetting only go over to the next size or another, header should add a little bit of power just remeber "ENGINE love lots off back pressure at low rpm's and No pressure at high rpm's" So dont straight pipe it. With all That said it should add about 3 or 4hp and ur rpm's could get up to 6500 with all that
GOOD LUCK

You want a high lift cam and heavier valve springs, no such thing as a high lift valve spring.

4 strokes need no back pressure, the faster the exhaust exits the engine the better.

NO 2 strokes need back pressure and tuned pipes 4 strokes go right ahead with the strait pipes the less bends the better.

agreed. lmao, ive got two streetbike engines and ive found that my great uncle knows a crapload about engines and all that stuff. ima drop them off to him and he is gonna fix one, ill pay for parts, and he gets to keep the other one. not a bad deal i dont think. they are a 96 and a 97 suzuki katana 600's. they make around 70hp stock witch is gonna make a little race kart scoot pretty **** fast. i bet the new neighbors are gonna love me w/ my streetbiked go kart w/ just headers and my kx125 lol. today i went out on our dock, I SEEN A ALIGATOR.
