How complicated is it to raise a kart?

First off. I'm completely new to karts. I found a, what looks like, a decent kart on craigslist for actually fairly cheap. The only issue I see with it...for now...is that it sits a too low to the ground for my liking so I was curious if it's possible to put arms(?) in front each of wheels or get larger wheels to raise it.

Ideally I would like to raise it off about 2-3 ft. and turn it into an off-road kart. No extreme off roading but dirt trails, curb sized rocks, smaller things like that.

That kart should be fairly capable off road as it is. But larger tires/wheels would get you more ground clearance. 2-3 feet seems very extreme to me and would require a major rebuild of the entire thing. If you do go with larger tire/wheels it will effect the final drive ratio, so you will have to replace the rear sprocket to compensate.

As ezcome-ezgo said, that's way too extreme. Besides the whole ratio thing, you risk having a too-high center of gravity, AKA kart is going to want to tip whenever you turn, specially on uneven terrain. Off road, IMO, is more about shock absorption than height. I'd consider adding suspension and suspension accessories.

Check - I planned on adding newer seats to whatever I end up with
Check - I have several helmets and lots of motorcycle gear
