how can i cut slots in 1/8inch metal?

how do i cut slots in my 1/8inch engine mount straight? do i use a file? grinder? thanks

Drill a hole at each end, then use your angle grinder with cutoff disk to cut the slots.

How long do you need the slots? Unless long, a file would work well. The other option is to drill a string of close holes, then file between them with a round file.

If you have access, a vertical mill does one he// of a job.

Drill holes and then grind the slots. A metal file can be used to smooth out the rough edges

A jigsaw also works well to get the slot reasonably accurate.
