If it takes real courage to run into a burning building then it takes real madness to buy a vehicle a vehicle that has been on fire.

The last ride this 4 wheeler went on ended in conflagration and I bought what was left for $40.

Frame and handle bars appear to unharmed, tires and axle are good. Has hydraulic rear brake, the transmission responded when I shifted and the motor appears to have compression. Oh, and the seat is a little charred, but usable.

That's the end of the good news. All the wiring is burnt up, all the front plastic is gone along with half the rear.

All isn't lost though. I found this running engine with carb and wiring harness for another $50.

These 110cc Chinese ATV's only have one good point....parts are cheap. After that, everything else is crap. Electrical systems are substandard, Steel is melted down scrap from Apollo 11 launch towers, Pivot points wear out in hours....Ride it twice and spend $50 fixing it +time.
But Scottrods is correct, the motor is a great power plant (110cc) for a small Kart. The Tires can be used. My grandson has the 125D, Brand new motor ($225 on ebay) Carb....$12
Even a 2 year old can fix it....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSqLX78efic
The guy you got that from must have had less experience then my crew chief.
Get ready for (Wrench,Wreck,Repeat)<<<<<not my quote

I just bought it for parts without any intention of putting it back together as a quad. As Bubba mentioned the big upside to these is that parts are cheap and readily available and the motors are pretty zippy for such a small size.

I know Hellion has mentioned this before and he's dead on - the wiring systems in these things are a rat's nest and make the engines more trouble than they are worth.

I soldered together a wiring harness and bypassed pretty much everything outside the engine except the starter and CDI and was able to get the engine w/ auto trans running on a stand.

At this point I'm debating stripping all of the extraneous components off the quad and doing an engine swap and trying to resell it as a barebones "rideable" quad.
