OK, so I have this Yamaha gas golf cart belt driven I took the motor out and replaced it with the Honda GX 390 but the old primary clutch obviously isn’t the same looking for either adapter to slide in it or a new clutch 1 inch bore keyway

Most of the clutch manufacturers make a 1" centrifugal clutch, my mate has just picked up a second hand one on ebay.uk
You just need to specify the chain and tooth count

Thank you. For some help. Which would be best to use. I have a belt secondary on the rear end. Should I change it to belt driven. Or change everything to chain and sprocket.

1) I would never use a centrifugal clutch on a golf cart. Too much weight and strain. Stick with a torque converter (TC).
2) If you can make a belt final drive work, do it. But a belt output aftermarket TC is a rare bird indeed, if it exists at all. Chains and sprockets are a better "open source" solution.

You need to post detailed pics and the exact measurements showing the difference between the output shafts of these 2 engines for us to have any chance of helping you.

Also include detailed pics and dimensional measurements of your Yamaha driven pulley clutch assembly.

We'll also need to know the year and model of your golfcart.

Or here's another idea:
I just googled the search term: "Clutch for Honda GX390 on a Yamaha Golfcart". I got lots of results showing serveral youtube build videos and also found companies selling driven clutches and lots of other componets for the conversion your attempting.

Have you already done that same google search for the Adaptor you need?

I'm having a similar issue. Trying to find a drive clutch that has the correct size key! All the clutches I can find have an machined key that is too shallow for the 1/8" keyway on the GX390 shaft.
