Hi guys

I'm new to the forum :)

Question please, the fuel intake on my GX200 carburetor is blocked, any hints on how to unblock it? The engine was standing for a long time and I think its either rust or corrosion. I have tried to force fuel through, sprayed cleaner but no luck.

On the carburetor I can see the openings are blocked off by things that look like small bearings? Does anyone know what they are called and how to remove them. The one that is pointed by the red arrow seems to be inline with where the blockage is.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!!

You might need to totally disassemble and fine-clean the carburetor for the amount of time it spent inactive and dirty.

Those little bearings are indeed little steel balls or BB's. They are normal and installed by the factory, usually, to block off a passage in the carb to prevent a fuel or air (vacuum) leak.

Also, sometimes the factory removes an adjustable feature from the carb, like a fuel mixture screw and blocks it off with a steel BB. The carburetor then becomes a non-adjustable carburetor.

*They are not meant to be removed.

that's an ex air bleed for the fuel shutoff valve as hellion said: blocked intentionally!
the stubby lever above it is the fuel shut off
currently closed btw.. ;)

Anyways, cleaning the carb is easiest by boiling it in lemon juice (watered down citric acid)

small air vanes might not get cleaned out properly on first try,
some mono filament fishing line helps poking through all the small holes (be carefull though)
