Honda GX120 Governor Removal

Hello,

I'm sure you guys answer this question frequently, so if there is already a thread for this, I apologize. I have an older 4 horse Honda GX120, and I am thinking of removing the governor. I was wondering how fast these engines can turn over safely. I have heard that flywheels can be a problem when the governor is removed. Thanks.

Also many maybe even most of us Remove the governor. As the RPMs come up the valve float prevents high enough RPM to brake flywheels. Just make sure you do not just disconnect the linkage, The internal gov. need to be removed. Those two threads explain more.
