Honda GX 390 13 HP

Hello all,

I took a GX 390 off of a generator and am working on putting it on a KART for my son. My question is that once I removed the armature
assembly for the generator motor I noticed that the shaft is tapered. Where can I find a clutch/sprocket for a tapered shaft? And do y'all think this is a good engine for my KART plan?

Tapered shaft, There might a clutch for a tapered shaft, doubtful tho...
So maybe Get an adapter, were you find one I don't know... Or just buy a new crankshaft shaft, which ever suits you...

Do you have any machinist buddies? Or a friendly machine shop near by?
If you can get teh tapered bit out of the generator I think a person could lathe it to something usable.

You could put a PTO stub on the fan side.

Thanks all for the feedback. Sounding like a PITA to adapt. Do people like/use the Chinese Predator Engines?
