Disclaimer: Yes, I am crazy but I'm not stupid (debatable). I intend to do whatever is necessary to make sure this Super Blackbird Kart is safe as one can be with an 1137cc engine, producing 152HP & nearly 88 lb-ft of torque. This engine powered the fastest production superbike in the world at the time with a top speed of 180.2mph from the factory. Yikes!

Ok, with all that out of the way... I definitely do NOT intend to build an F1 go-kart as it would easily break the 200mph mark. I dont intend on doing 100mph in this kart though I'm sure it will be capable of doing it... I just love my ugly mug too much. I'm going with an off-road build, maybe a mini version of Bobby Tanners Screamin Blue - 700hp Hill Climber. If you havent seen Bobby Tanner in action then you are in for a real treat. Go check him out... I'll wait right here for you. (Just kidding... let's continue).

I guess I'm building a homemade RZR 1000? I have just acquired the motorcycle, which is in great shape for a 2005. I already have my off road 2 seater adult go-kart... will have videos of the build on YouTube and plenty photos here along with my build log. Before I get started I'm gonna have to address.. well a lot. What size axel do you guys think its gonna take or should I go with CV's? I would really like the ability to switch tween 2/4WD. Maybe I should just use the drive train/transfer case out of an RZR? That's gonna be a tremendous challenge but there is more than enough power to spin 4 wheels imho. Will definitely be upgrading the horrible suspension. Want it to handle as much like an RZR as possible on a married man with 3 kids budget. Yep, donations are welcome. Hahaha Jk. I'll get her done somehow. I guess there's enough food for thought for now. Any ideas or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Feel free to leave negative comments as well but fair warning, I dont speak ahole and not gonna translate your negative comments so the rest of us can understand it. :)

With that... I open the floor for discussion. Thanks in advance guys!

Well, I would say that you're crazy, but that'd be a bit like the pot calling the kettle black since I'm a bit nuts myself. Now, for the axle, you might be able to use a side by side axle. Some of the new sport sxs's have 1000cc engines, but they're parts may not be widely available yet. But suspension parts for a side by side would work great, and you should be able to find some. And a full roll cage would be nice, you just have to make it strong enough. So could you maybe get a few pics of the kart, so we can see what you're working with?

And, this might be better under the gokarts section, where it would probably get more views.

*cough* hayabusa 1999.. 1300cc.. 175horses 138Nm (compared to the 119 of the super blackbird) aaaand 312km/h (194 mph)
so no.. never was the fastest stock bike in production I'm afraid..
(yes, since 2002 some busas came limited to 300km/h still that'd be 186mph...)
power raise to 197hp in 2007? (limited to 295.. a flick of a switch later and it passed 320 ;))

Anywhoo.. still a mean bike :D

Not sure it'll serve you well on a dirt-buggy tbh..
those engines are revvers and the torque is massive for a bike,
but as soon as you add another few hundred pounds of steel you run into some minor drawbacks with it.

Don't get me wrong, it'll certainly propell you nicely, just not as amazingly as you might expect ;)
