We have proper plans for safety including a seat with head and leg restraints as well as a 5 point harness. Most of this kart build will be from cars that we have scrapped. All that's left is finding the correct width of the kart so we can begin modifying the Jeep roll cage.;)

Updates.... and cycle tear down soon.

So upon further investigation I have realized kart is the wrong word for this build. It'll be a semi-off road buggy. I looked around using the search feature and found pretty good pictures of what I'm trying to get after. I really like the V6 street rail and will be modeling after that just with better suspension for some off-road riding. I've also been looking at what some of the similar builds have cost and without the engine and metal costs and :ack2: I have a feeling that this might not get done before school starts :censored: I know how you guys might feel about this thread :useless: so maybe tomorrow or Wednesday I'll get pictures up.

Got the motorcycle home yesterday, the pics will be up later today. Still wondering about the bearings in the previous post, and if 18" A-Arms are good enough for a hybrid buggy?

I personally don't see 18" a-arms as being problematic, but remember that the longer the a-arm the better the suspension is going to be. If you can squeeze in a few more inches then go for it, if not you should be fine though.

Besides looking weird, would longer front suspension be more functional? Oh and sorry about the pics we got rained in right as we were starting the tear down.

Officially using truck cv axles for the kart. Also here is a pic of the bike.

The search begins for a 5 bolt sprocket that can handle 100+HP at the wheels, any ideas other than chain for transmitting that much power to the wheels? The disk is what I plan on using for rear braking, it's a 11 inch disk with dual piston caliper, up front I'll be running twin 10.8 inch disks with dual piston calipers. And for wheels I'll probably be 30 inch tires in the back and 25s up front.
