Just picked up a honda 200x for 50 bucks, without carb, Im planning a shifter cart and could probably use quite a bit of help.

For now any carb recomendations would be great and any other info about this engine. Im not really sure how the shifting and clutch works on this haha.

any help is greatly appreciated.

The splined shaft underneath the output shaft is the shifter. You need to turn that about 1/8th of a turn each way to shift up or down.

Not sure about the 200x, but on my GS engine the clutch mechanism requires the sprocket cover, which appears to be missing on your engine.

I believe the clutch lever is on the right side of your engine...Shifting is 1 down 4 up....200x is a good machine...i would personally find a 200x frame and restore it to its former self...more fun that way trust me.

He had the frame and was just parting the trike out, I would do a restore but the closest place for me to have fun romping around is atleast an hour drive and I dont have a truck so for me I think its a better idea to build a shifter cart I could throw in the back of an suv or just drive around the big lots by my house.

One more question as Ive never ridden a motorcylce or quad with a kick start or manual transmission, what does the lever below the kick start do? Also does the shifter click down once for each gear and spring up, or does each gear have its own position like a car?
