is that an altoids tin for your intake manifold? LMAO

Air cleaner, actually ....when you open the box, there's a couple of layers of screen door material, wrapped in about seven or eight layers of pantyhose. The bottom of the can is drilled for ventilation, plus a larger hole to fit over the mouth of the carb.

This is actually an older picture of the bike. Since then, I've been doing some welding, and fabbed up a new chain guard, upper engine mount, and front fender. If you're interested, I'll post up a current shot showing all the fun little things I've done to it.

Post a new pic. I like all the DIY parts.

Okay, you asked for it. Here's a collage of the various things I've done to The Rat:

My friends always get a huge kick out of seeing this bike whenever we go out for practice. Considering that this was originally an $80.00 CraigsList special and had been VERY badly abused by the previous owner, it was an interesting rebuild.

ya, you did a good job. I got my muffler welded up yesterday(ill post a pic later). The tank turned out to be 1/32" on the top, so i ended up making a huge glob of weld to fill the holes i burned in it. The muffler works great though, and looks and sounds awesome.

i pull both the schrader valves out and dunk it in a bath of water. It takes a special long nose tool though so i supose you could just hold them in but it would take much longer to fill. When bubles stop coming out its full

Im making a new pipe for the muffler. Right now its just taped together and I'll weld it later. Any problems you could see?

. o O (I think the blue tape will burn off once you fire up the engine .... :p)

Maybe put a small elbow bend on the tip to point the exhaust straight back? Other than that, looks good.

The blue tape is there to hold it for mock-up. My muffler is gonnna clamp on the end, but adding a removable bend on the end would be good for use as a straight pipe.
