Make a flange for the air filter side from steel and weld a piece of pipe to it which is the same o/d as the I/D of a cone filter. You should not make the actual filter, unless you have something lying around that can be modded to fit. You need proper filter foam or the correct tools to make a k+n style one.

You mean like this:

It was made to fit a B&S 3hp from a couple of tin lids & some diamond mesh

Nothing special. A steel plate with a hole in the center to match the carb inlet bore, and two outer holes drilled to match the carb mounting studs. Then, you'd weld a short section of tube over it to slip a filter on. The result would resemble this:

Pretty sure you already asked this question like 2 days ago.... here's what i said.


Just make one... go to the hardware store and buy a PVC cap. Drill a hole in the middle and then drill two holes for the mounting screws. Clamp a high flow filter on the outside from apskarting.com or the local pep boys rice boy section and you're all set.

well I actually meant the rest of it, it sounded like he was describing some form of pipe to put it on
