Yes it does matter, the side with the spring goes on the outside And the flat side inside

thanks yeah i was hoping i had it wrong in pics . and thanks on exhaust it sounds pretty decent ill see if i can post a video of it in a min. you ever used these torque converters before. im running 23 inch tires and planning on a 6 to 1 ratio after converter.

No I haven't, had one of these before, so I don't know what a good ratio would be

Nope everything looks great, and the frame looks very strong, strong than my frame Atleast and I have a engine twice as powerful as yours so I think yours should hold up very nicely

only thing ill probably end up changing is front susp. thinking of building some a arms in steap of the spindle setup i have now. it just seems to stiff now but gonna wait to see how it rides and handles.

I can tell you now, it's gonna be rough; one way to reduce that is to reduce the tyre pressure but, not too much, you don't want to be running on flats... or you can build a full dual A arm setup...

I can see a few minor problems with the frame; the frame itself looks ok (although, I would've used larger material), it's more the setup that may cause problems:

-IMO, the engine is a bit too far back; moving it forward a few inches will throw the balance to the front; at the moment, the engine appears to be directly over the axle, good for balance but, no good for handling...

-You may have a problem with routing the chain around the rear of the frame...

-Again, IMO, the steering shaft support is a bit too far forward; if possible, I'd move it back...

Other than that, looking good

Yeah I agree with the front suspension I'm thinking of makin a arms for it but right now I just wanna drive it bad. Been working on it since last winter when I got the motor. And the engine is a few inches forward over center of axle. Not sure how much farther I can go with out redoing the rear swing arm frame. And yes its tight for the chain but clears with bout 3/4 inch for sprocket. How well do you think the live axle will hurt steering the way it's setup now versus a arms?? Thanks for your advice

Set up correctly, suspension will not effect the steering, what will effect the steering is... well... the steering...

What I mean by that is, if the steering geometry isn't set up correctly, it simply won't work correctly (that's the thing about mechaincals, they only do what they're designed/made to do); there's no clear shot of the steering geometry so, I can't comment on how it will work (hint hint ;))

Have a read through this thread & see how your steering compares...

As for drive ratio (sorry, I missed it on the previous post), IMO, 6:1 on 22s is a bit steep, especially since it's going off road... even with a TC

:wai: Is that K241 stock? That exhaust system looks heavy. I did not see any support for all that weight hanging out of the exhaust port. They have a tendancy to break out the exhaust port with out some kind of support. As all K-series Kohlers have a good amount of vibration, therefore furthing the cause of exhaust port break out without some kind of support.
