home made hand/parking brake

Like a manual hand brake in place of the foot pedal? Or just a locking parking brake?

I have been toying with this idea. The kart Im building is a small two seater. The brake control is on the far left side of the cart. I have a couple of small kids that I will be teaching to drive and I thought an E brake might be nice. Reaching the brake would take a few seconds because of the steering shaft being in the way.

Just get a second brake cable and run it from the brake pedal to a secondary brake pedal on the passengers side. It would be just like a drivers ed car.
