Picked this up maybe three weeks ago. I traded a clutch for a 3hp with a clutch on it. Then used a can of paint I had laying around to make it look all nice and well... presentable?? Anyway I kept the clutch and traded the 3hp for a home made gokart that had a 5hp and a nice max torque clutch. That’s how this project got going. The kart sat for ten years before I got it. And who knows how long before the PO got it. 66641A8D-C1EA-413B-8739-E8C88C5245F6.jpegBAEA7C26-A2E1-49EF-8B74-678DB092887C.jpeg79A6DA98-0DC0-4B3E-B62F-9A563462D817.png

valves were locked up well and did not want to be freed. both gaps were at a loose 18 thousands. tank had two inches of mud and the case had been jb weld repaired at some point. It’s a sad 5hp but a runner so moving along. A2966DC7-01AE-4752-A16E-AF46370F4325.jpeg473554A0-7BAC-41EA-A0AE-2B5434D3BF5F.jpegBAB876E3-CEB3-4FB9-947D-63DEFA639C5F.jpeg

I cut all that nonsense out and just made it fit down on the plate. Cut slides so it could be adjusted like a normal gokart engine. Don’t have a picture but yes I finished the plate so yes the engine has a lot of adjustment now.11560674-062E-4A71-B525-0B68AAE579DB.png

Mock up of the twin engine setup. Yes it’s a 3hp and a 5hp that’s Just for fitting and seeing what’s what. I was gonna buy a slightly longer live axle then I normally buy and throw the second sprocket behind the wheel hub. Run a simple pivot system for a band brake. But now with all the parts going to the streaker this might not even happen. E417467F-125D-4CF7-A5E0-F80ED0670E6E.jpeg

And that’s where this project sits... i Ran a throttle cable to the pedal and there is no brakes or kill switch. the diff works great And is more of a limited slip. Pulls awesome through grass/fields. I have put maybe 4 miles worth of seat time on it just screwing about went down the way to the neighbors and back. It is exactly what it looks like. good for maybe a 10yo if any effort was put into making it usable.
