So belive it or not I have never installed a clutch before so I just had a couple questions. I have the standard hilliard extream duty that im mounting on a honda clone 6.5hp.

Its just arrived in the mail and I opened it and all it had was the clutch housing and the clutch shoe assembly with the sprocket and that gold thing in the middle (fergot what its called) anyways I know that I will have to purchase a bolt with a washer and lock washer to secure the clutch to the shaft.

My question is, is the clutch supposed to come with a radius washer or spacers anything? Or do you just lightly hammer it onto the engine untill it reaches the crank wall or the ed of the crank where it comes out of the engine or whatever ( sorry I dont know the correct terms ). I under stand this is a simple procedure, but the directions were less than useful. Anyways if someone could give me a quick detailed rundown of correct installations, I would greatly appreciate it

it should slide right on. if not, sand the shaft down a little (also make sure no crap in keyway)

it definatly does not slide right on, but it goes on if I lightly tap it, Do I tap it in untill it reaches the the end of the crank? do I need to use a radius washer between the clutch and the start of the crank? I need details

So your saying I would need a flat washer between the clutch and the engine in addition to the flat washer and bolt securing the clutch to the engine? you guys areent being very specific (no offence)

Arguably one of the worst segues ever. Anyways, I've always been under the impression that you inserted the key, slid the clutch on, and tightened down the set screws and were ready to roll.

What is the difference between a clutch that engages at 2300rpm and one that engages at 3000rpm, faster takeoff?
