I am building a single seater Pipe Kart. I am stretching a Yamaha Breeze quad bike and will be installing a Yamaha DT175cc dirt bike engine.

Attached are some pics of my progress to date. I am currently fabricating the engine brackets and modifying the rear suspension.

Uhhh,d@mn... WoW! You dyno'ed your engine? Nice.... Thats a pretty cool lookin ride. I am thinking of trading my vw powered sandrail for a Mojave 250 quad to do the same as what you're doing there. Go start a build thread and post up more pics. Curious to see how you made your framework. ... O yeah WELCOME to DYI !

I made the frame from a discarded old trampoline. Spot the parts.

Nice thinking

Can you try to make your pics a bit larger, they're a bit hard to see?

Another South African, welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum Willem. With your backround you shouldn't have a problem doing all the fabrication work that you need to do.

Another South African! We are few and far between. If you need any help, let me know.

I like what you have done so far. There is another member on the forum who also started out making his frame from a trampoline. I will try find the thread.

Edit: Here they are. I see that he deleted his photobucket pics, so I am not too sure if it is going to be any help to you

Nice work so far! I've seen a few cut-up quads before, and most of them don't seem to turn out very well. Yours looks a lot more promising! Good work with the recycled tubing, I like sourcing it wherever I can, too.

Welcome to the forum!

Moderator, will it be possible to delete this thread. I started a new build thread in “Project log” under the name “Out of Africa”
