I got the front end off and everything ready to ship. expept the wheels. My bead breaker sucks so I am going to take to friends house tomorrow night. Once I have him break the beads I will ship your parts out thursday morning.

The front end I cut off had slight bend in the bar. Easy fix once you get all the metal off.

you are going to need a hub as well for that sprocket ander listed.

Ok sounds great bighead, can't wait:D.
Thanks fowler for that site I took a quick look but I'll check it out more tomorrow.
And thank you also anderkart for doing the math for me:thumbsup:. I looked at that sprocket and WOW $87! Plus I'll need a hub. Well it is what it is, I guess I can't cheap out with this big motor going on this kart. Just thinking though, is there a classifieds section on here or somewhere I might find a used one? Thanks again for the help guys.

60 tooth and you would have to make a hub work. I would not buy a sprocket until you find a hub? Says 46t inlisting so check with seller.

Ask ander if he knows of a hub for 1" axle. You may have to drill your sprocket to bolt to hub. Maybe somthing like this.

And a larger pattern one. finding the bolt pattern and matching them is what you need to find.

Ahh nice ebay finds bighead, I was going to look there next. If I can't find something to match up I can drill it. I just got a tap and die set. What do you guys think about the aluminum hubs and sprockets though, would aluminum be strong enough for this motor?
EDIT - I guess if they make them for a 500 size motorcycle they have to be strong enough.

Some brands of aluminum hubs/sprockets are very high quality and some other brands are total pieces of trash. The same is true for steel sprockets and hubs.

If your going to shop around for a lower priced #520 axle sprocket, I'd try to find one in the 70-tooth range instead of 63. I feel that would give the best ratio, I just sugested that 63-tooth as an alternative because It was the largest #520 model I could find that would bolt right on a 1"-bore go kart hub without any mods.

If your town has a motorcycle wrecking yard, they might have some good/used #520 dirt bike sprockets at a lower price, but then you'd have to find/mod a suitable hub to fit your 1" axle...

Another possible alternative to consider is welding a (10 to 14-tooth) #40/41 drive sprocket to your engines counter sprocket. The welding job would need to be very strong and the 2 sprockets perfectly aligned, but then you could buy #40/41 axle sprockets that cost less.

Ok bighead sounds great. This is going to be a fun project.
I'll keep looking anderkart for a 70T sprocket. I haven't found one for a 520 chain yet. I did find this place that custom makes sprockets for a reasonable price (if they aren't junk)http://www.hoheydesigns.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33_34&products_id=113
I emailed them this afternnon asking if they could make a 70T but I haven't heard back from them yet.
I know a guy who has a motorcycle garage and is into stunt bikes that use big rear sprockets, I'll give him a call and see if he has anything laying around. I don't really want to mess with the motor sprocket and go to a smaller size chain. I'm pretty far from actually needing it now so I'll look around for a while. Thanks guys.

Did paypal send you the shipping info?

Parcel Post is slow at 2 to 9 days not counting weekends. Just wanted to give you heads up on that. With heavy boxes you can count on 9 plus days in most cases.

Box was 65lbs. Seems like a lot for your front end. But may be just what you need with that 250cc engine. More lbs on the front end can only help.

Told you they were heavy duty parts.
