Welcome. Are you a good welder? Do you own a welder, chop saw, multiple clamps of various sizes, and have a good flat layout area to work in? If not, and unless you are looking for something very unique or special it can at times
be cheaper to find a beater or project of a style of kart that you like, and refurbish it.

Pancho’s advice is very good. Most of us here started or are starting (in my case) with a used frame. Inspect well and you can get some stuff. Just please don’t make it out of a pallet or bolt it together! Also decide on some specifics. Suspension? Two seats or one? Things like that can help in the building or buying process.
