:welcome2: Zack..

well post some pictures; I'm sure we can make one or two suggestions,
but we have to know what we're dealing with first ;)

:welcome2: hit the "post reply" icon (advanced reply, not quick reply) then scroll down and look for "manage attachments " icon. Hit that, the rest should be easy. Make sure the pics upload before you close that Page though.
The predator was a wise choice! Great engine, TONS of power..... :cheers2:

look closely, and if you find it.. keep it safe ;)

it should be mounted to your left rear wheel (you have the holes tapped)
now all you need is a 72T sprocket and a 12T clutch (3/4") and chain...
you can get everything from OMB
http://www.ombwarehouse.com/34-Clutch-and-Chain.html
http://www.ombwarehouse.com/72-Tooth-35-Steel-Plate-Sprocket.html
or if you want to have the original gear ratio (little bit faster, little bit less torque: )
http://www.ombwarehouse.com/60-Tooth-35-Steel-Plate-Sprocket.html
(I'm almost sure it fit's the manco pattern)

this will for sure:
http://www.gokartsrus.com/product_info.php?products_id=326
(see it's virtually identical)

Oh yes.. and you need to attach the throttle cable and make the scrub brakes work.
that's basically it...

If I can't find that part will it be hard to get? I set the engine down on the frame and the pull cord is facing into the seat and it don't quite fit down on the mounting plate

Here's a Manco on the live axle version of your kart...

the engine will be at the other rear wheel on your's but facing exactly the same way:

This is why we say time and time again. ......PICS. PICS. PICS!!!!!!!

It does sound like you have your engine on backwards. ... (or bought the reverse rotation one)......

What's that part# on the Predator andPULEESE post some pictures! !!!!

I think the problem is that your kart would, most likely, have had someting like a B&S flathead originally, which is a different shape & size to the honda/clone/Predator; there's a few ways around it but, all involve some type of modification...
