I think 50 is a little short to make a kart with a 600cc engine, and make it safe. That's just my 2c worth. It can be done with the right skills etc, I am just not sure if you have all that

OK, so what about frame materials, what kind of steel do you have, and how much?
Tires, what kind and size? Rims? Do they have a hub or do you need them too? Axles size?

NO, have to use disc brakes, there is too much power involved to stop safely.

How about you list off hand what you have, then what you need. This is just starting to get a little confusing.
Willing to post my input, just need some more info, thats all.

I see,
Do you know if the chain is the same as the bike motor/sprockets?

What off of the bike are you able to get, the whole bike or just the motor?

When you get a chance your going to need to post a pic of the frame for us to see what kind of setup you currently have, as this will definatly set the precedent for the rest of the build.

oh and there is an edit button on the lower end of each post, so you dont have to add another post each time for a new thought of missed typing.

Ok, I just read this entire thread & read a few things I wish I could unread:

A 600cc bike engine has a lot of power
-don't even consider bolting it to anything less than a full tube chassis with a roll cage
-anything less than the OEM brakes is insufficient
-never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever weld anything to an axle
-a budget of $100 won't get you far, there's a zero missing...

Most of that comes down to how much do you value your life?

Okay.. :iagree: 100% with what Fabroman and landuse are saying..

So only if you have a good amount of steel tubing laying around and you have the wheels, and the engine and basically the whole motorbike it came off...
and a welder, grinder etc... and a good 'free' supply of materials (nuts, bolts welding wire etc.)
then, and only then a 50GBP limit may be doable.
(still unlikely, but not impossible)

otherwise you simply can't make that happen.
think about it this way:
two kart pedals, a steering wheel and a bucket seat and the budget is gone!

a 600cc Bandit engine on a home made frame (first timer...)
that's brave.. or dumb (depends on your skills, so make your choice)

Yes I read that.. it was an example on how little 50 bucks can be kart wise...

a bad (confusing) one maybe... but still you do not go anywhere with just 50 GBP ;)

Okay another example: a brake with enough stopping power for a 600 Bandit engine could easily draw 300 GBP (calipers, discs, pads...)
a new set of wheels after the first few hours of fun with a kart that powerfull will cost more than 50 GBP...

a sprocket and chain alone will eat that up...

should I proceed?
