Hello everyone.

I'm new to hobby building, and karts/mini bikes in general. I currently have two mini bikes that I got from craigslist, and am rebuilding. A Baja Doodlebug, and a mini chopper. Here they are.

I have 95% of the parts for the Doodlebug, and the mini chopper is getting converted to electric. These will be my first builds ever!

I did pick up a Yamaha PW50 for my 5yr old, and fixed that up. Got it from a co worker for $250. Here's that, and the disgrace of a carb that was on it, lol :D

Thanks landuse, and sorry about the pics!

After the bikes are done, I'm thinking of converting my older son's old razor kart to a barstool style racer also.

So much enthusiasm... and so little time to work on these projects. That probably describes most people on this forum though :D

Hey, sorry to bump this old thread, but I thought this was the most appropriate place...

I really dig you guys. The sum of all of you knowledgeable members, the friendliness, and the willingness to help really makes this a great place.

I've been slowly participating more and more, and hope to continue to do so. My usual MO with hobbies is to immerse myself in it until I have a decent handle on it, then when there is less of a challenge... move on to something else. This hobby seems to create new challenges with each idea/build, and it covers a wide range of necessary skills. I hope I stick with this one for many years.

So, thanks to all for all of the wonderful information that gets shared, and the humor/humour that comes with it.

I like you people

Carry on :D

Late WELCOME! Oxy, Ive been addicted and afflicted with karts for over 25 years. (Dam I'm getting old) and most likely will be tinkering on them till I make my last call. If the challenge isn't there anymore, its time to build the BIG GRAND DADDY of EM ALL kart for yourself with all the bells and whistles.
On a side note...... also ,when the challenge is gone, its time top pass those acquired skills on down to theboys who will carry on your name and memorie. In turn, they will do the same, and grass roots karting will stay alive for yet another generation......

Oh...that reminds me. We are going to have to ban you until you do. :D:D

Jokes..

Now, think about that one Paul, how can he make an intro thread if he's banned... :lolgoku:

Oxy, as you've seen, we carry on a bit but, when it's time for business, it's time for business (who says you can't mix business with pleasure...), that's what keeps it interesting; as Forrest Gump would say "...it's like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get" :D

See... more awesomeness from the members. Thanks guys! I'm starting to feel like "one of the gang"

And Jim, you said it man... doing this stuff with my kids is the best part! Thinking that they may pass this on to theirs when they're grown, makes my heart smile. Hope I'm still around to help with the grand kids when it's their turn :)
