I am kind of new to go karts and small engines for that matter... bought a used two seater for my 6 yr old and everything was fine.. started it yesterday and turned it off via the kill switch on the steering wheel and now it will not start... not getting a spark.. new spark plug btw.. disconnected the kill switch but not sure if that alone disengages it..... maybe it is the coil??

And you don't have to hope here....

Now....it's never easy diagnosing stuff online.....but....here's what I think is probably going on.....

I don't know where, I don't know how, and I don't know why.....but you prolly have a short in that wire that runs from the engine to the steering column....

Did you disconnect it at the steering wheel or the engine?

Rewire kill switch first then check ht lead is tight at coil and plug cap ht cap .....always works for me. If not change coil.
