Back when I lived in Washington state we would get a decent amount of snow, sometimes even a ft 1 1/2, sometimes black ice but only sometimes

Black ice is the norm. around these parts in Jan & Feb.,, when the temps drop ''sub zero'' ,,& the winds are blowing ect.
I hate those winter months here.

The Guy's up in WI. got it worse.

Am originally from the Bay area, & after the state getting all burned up,, it would break my heart to go back...

well I live in southern Wisconsin. not as much snow. when we have a good storm mabe about a foot. apparently the average snowfall where I live is 34" so not a tun but enough to go sledding and snowmobiling.

They were a bit more north & east of you though.
