A little about myself:
I've always been interested in cars and any kind of gas engines. I moved on from Hondas to BMWs. My latest adventure involves finishing my first engine swap project. I put a LS6 engine that i rebuilt with a T56 camaro trans into my 1998 BMW M3 coupe (e36).
Go karting:
A year or so ago my uncle found out that i was interested in cars and internal combustion engines. He gave me a go kart that he had built a long time ago.
steel tube frame
cable actuated disc brake (connected
cable actuated throttle
chain-driven
centrifugual style clutch
turf tires with inner tubes
Briggs and Stratton
260cc (i think)
single piston
I need help identifying the engine so that I can start figuring out how to fix it.
i got it running, but the thing seems pretty finnicky and only works when it wants to. Before i changed the rear gearing setup, we paced the kart with my friend's S1000RR at 41 mph. I'd like to futher modify the engine for better acceleration, better top speed, and more reliability. At this point, reliability is my number one priority and i think i can go from there.
