Hey everybody sorry my bad spelling but i need you to solve my first problem :wai: constructing a go kart. This is going to be my first one and i want to make it cheap (I have earned 300 dollars to spend on it) and i need to finish it before school ends this year because i want to make it as my personal project for the year. I am reeeally interested in this topic but I need suggestions with what to start with. I would be trully thankfull  if you could comment on this or message me opinions and suggestions for my project. if it helps this is the engine that i might be using http://vehiculo.mercadolibre.cl/MLC-39706512-motor-para-gokart-_JM
Please comment!! Thanksss :D

I would suggest that you dont use a two-stroke. There is nothing inherently "wrong" with them, they just dont have the power that I think you might be looking for.

Also, since this is your first kart, consider buying an already used and/or fabricated frame instead of building it yourself, but I dont know your abilities so you make that decision.

Hey, Welcome to the forum. Your Spelling is not bad at all, we can all understand you perfectly.

You need something like the engines in this link:

http://www.lanzco.cl/tecnamaq/MotoresBencineros/

These are just Briggs and Stratton engines, and there are many more types, but this is the sort of engine that you would want for your kart.

Man this are way too expensive, I asked for the 6,5 Hp and it was about 350 dollars. The 3.5 hp is 200 dollars. you think that with 3.5 hp i would be able to drive? i weight around 70 kilos. Another question by the way, What is better, a 70 cc engine or a 3,5 hp engine?

thanks or everything man and by the way, really cool people and really cool forum!

I would say that a 3.5HP engine is better. You must try and see if you can get a used engine like the one in the link I sent you, not a new one. That would be too expensive.

I think if you use the right gearing, and don't build you kart too heavy, 3.5HP should be fine for you.
