Hi,
I was into karting for awhile, and then dropped out for awhile, now I am back and want to play around with vintage karts.
I found this enduro kart and would like to know if anyone can ID it for me.
The kart was about 95% complete, and had dual KT100s. It was only missing the pipes. I cleaned it up for some pictures.
Hear are some design details that might help ID it. The chassis has two main rails without a waist. It has heim joints that attach a top member of the "front porch" to posts on the front axle. The front mount for the steering shaft is a threaded member rather than the typical ball joint. The rear mount for the steering shaft is a heim joint mounted on a plate supported by two posts. The head rest has a solid back and is chrome plated. It has a chrome plated belt guard that looks like the mounts might have been made by an owner rather than the factory. It has dual rear brakes that are Hurst/Airheart 170s with no front brakes. The welding is good to excellent on the chassis and excellent on the aluminum dual tanks. The kart is belt driven and has two Hartman dry clutches mounted on the motors. One of the KT100's was reversed so that both clutches are inboard. The rear axle is solid 1" diameter with four bearing mounts. The critical bolts on the beasty were drilled and either cotter pinned or safety wired and had an IKF sticker on it, but no tech inspection tags. The belt guard had a faint imprint of "YAMAHA" as if there were some decals on the belt guard at one time.
Any help with an ID would be appreciated.
