Karting newbie here, but able to weld with stick & mig. Have in past put a 42cc motor on a mountain bike & similar one with 36v hub motor, made several utility trailers. interested in offroad kart/minibike rather than track racing

Hi Robert

The engine I fitted to the ATB is the Russian version of the Chinese kit offered by www.kingsmotorbikes.com/ www.zbox.com.au/

Mine was bankrupt stock, cost $40 equiv. BUT had no muffler, fuel tank, chain or rear sprocket/mounting kit. Plus point is the Russian version has an iron cylinder block - rather than the chromed alloy bore on the Chinese kit. All these little engines have 4:1 internal reduction and a manual cable operated clutch (which also has a lockpin to to keep the clutch disengaged). The only means of starting is to ride the bike normally then release clutch. Top speed is 16.5 mph with a 46t rear sprocket - more of an offroad fun bike really.
If you wish to PM me with a normal emal address I will forward a pic to see what you think - and where if anywhere! such a project may be posted, as not a B&S type minibike. Sorry I am not more PC literate, maybe the wife will help me post a pic
