I just won a Hemi auction for $75.01
The internet hearsay is that these are being bought from harbor fright direct using stolen credit cards for full price, shipped directly to consumers like us who unknowingly bought them from stolen ebay accounts, most of which have never sold a thing until now. I don't know if it's true but it kinda takes the fun out of it, I do not in any way want to help enrich a thief. Also, despite shipping quite some time ago via fedex, nothing has shown up yet.

If it is a scam, why would they bother to fake the shipping?

lol, no, unlike white collar criminals in our country who are unlikely to even be charged, if I pulled this the powers that be would have no problem taking me from my family and friends for many years.
As to faking the shipping, I don't know if they even are, I am simply saying many of my ebay purchases have shown up far faster via slower shipment methods.

I posted the shipping page, and have a fed ex tracking number.
So far, there is no movement.
If I get ripped off on this one, it's ok.
I earlier this year lost $2k on a heavy equipment scam.
I now only order stuff from ebay with money I can afford to lose.
Well, I can't really afford to lose money, but I don't spend money on this stuff that I need to use for my prozac.

Another thought. Why would a scammer end the sale instead of keeping it open and making more money?
Just another site I frequent. People who ordered earlier than me have been reporting shipments that track almost to their door and are than recalled by harbor fright due to fraudulent payment, and so far I have not seen anyone actually receive anything substantially discounted. I have received tracking numbers, but no movement on them.

The postings are being removed by ebay due to their suspicious nature. Mostly sellers who suddenly are very busy and have never sold before.

I thought ebay had buyer protection, when you use pay pal.
I almost ordered one, the seller only had pay pal as a payment option.
So that helps protect your Credit Card.
I think people should be able to get their money back, But it takes time to go through their process.

I bought from the same guy before all of the uncertainty about how they are obtained came up.The guy has now put in shipping label information and it shows the engine is being shipped out of Dillon, South Carolina. I performed a Google search, that's the location of a Harbor Freight distribution center.

I'm just over here waiting to see if anyone actually gets their engine. The old saying "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is" keeps running through my mind. I hope you guys don't get hosed, but I'm pretty skeptical.

Well it's possible some of us just paid $69.99 for a cinder block in a box.
The weight with a box is kinda close.
If this is what shows shows up, I'll sell it again for the same price, then move out of the country.
