New here, so hi all
but I bought an old Yerf-dog 3200 a month or two ago, and Just got in my replacement for the tecumseh engine that was on it, so I got a harbor freight clone. Apparently the tecumseh had a longer shaft, and the clone is only a 2 1/4" shaft. The driven pully of the comet torque converter slides right on, but then the outer most portion of the pully just barely sits on the shaft, with about 1/2" on the shaft, and then a 3/4" gap. I could go get a longer bolt, I'm just wondering if this thing will damage itself and/or the crankshaft if I try to run it that way. Would it help at all if I cut off some of the tecumseh shaft to use with a longer bolt to fill the space? Or do I have to change my plans altogether and go with a centrifugal clutch? I'd really rather stick with the torque converter.
