Lately, as I tend to do every couple of months, I have been getting the building a mini bike bug. This time around I have "found" a copy of solid works and happen to have to much free time. I don't know if I'll get around to building it, but hey dreaming is half the fun :p

Anyways because as threads are meaningless without pictures, behold!

Feel free to tell me I'm a tosser and/or offer design changes and improvements; Obviously the swing arm is not complete yet and the shocks and engine are just mockups because I don't have any models of the real parts (Honda 6.5hp clone and some actual rear shocks) On a related note does anyone know how long a torque converter is?

First off, welcome! Is that SolidWorks, it looks great. I believe the torque converter, a Comet 30/TAV 2 with the backplate is about 7" from motor PTO to JS center. The driver clutch is about 4" OD and the driven is about 7" OD, IIRC. So, you could roughly estimate a foot, but a lot will be overlapping the motor. In fact, mine only mounts 2 ways because the JS bearings hit the motor; it's relatively compact.

Hi! looks like you're off to a pretty "solid" start! (lousy pun intended) If you do find yourself kicking off this project, start a build thread in the Projects setion. We all love seeing things come together!

I had started modeling a honda clone in AutoDesk Inventor a few months ago, but my laptop quit working:mad2:
